Unique Curriculum

Welcome to the AT Blog Site!

This site is dedicated to enhance communication and empower special education teachers with the latest and greatest from the Assistive Technology World.  The AT Blog Site is an interactive tool that will allow Sheri and I to send out timely information, provide training modules, tutorials, and even videos!  For staff, it is a wealth of resources, a place to ask questions, and an enviornment to collaborate with peers!

UNIQUE UPDATE!

Remember that there is no curriculum for December.  January will be sent out around Dec 16th so you’ll have it before the winter break.

CIA Learning Communities

Our Sept 27th LILAC meeting was well attended and the team put in 6 1/2 hours of hard work.  The lilac-research-9-24-08 was laid to establish a foundation of ideas that will guide our learning and staff development targets for the next few years.  Additionally, we envisioned what a model classroom would look like: identified several areas that were weaknesses and developed teams to work on how those areas could be futher enhanced.  As a follow up, 12 Learning Community members met on Nov 1st to begin the process of project planning and staff development targets for 09-10 school year. These CIA/LILAC teams will continue to develop the quality indicators of effective low-incidence teachers as they prepare for future staff development activities.

…stay tuned!

What if a group of learners use web 2.0 to collaborate?

I’m sitting here at Calistoga Bakery and I began to think (my partner Sheri says that usually means trouble!) Teachers time and resources are challenged now more then ever.  We hear that we need to work smarter and not harder, but what does that really look like?  Has anyone really found a way to do this?

What if….you could have materials, support, sharing communities, and lessons at a click?  What if….you used cutting edge technology to engage students like never before.  What if…it was easier to plan for the wide range of student needs?  What if…your classroom became a hub of activity that linked other classrooms, students, community members, and parents and it was easier to do then traditional methods of classroom management?

What if you joined a Web 2.0 community that made all these questions a reality?  Beginning with the 2008-2009 school year we’re going to find out!  It’s gonna be fun!
